October a man who was hit by a vehicle has passed away recently and detectives from Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit are looking into what happened during the accident. The crash took place around 7;41 p.m. Sunday evening of October 6th in 2024 close to Northwest 31st Avenue and West Sunrise Boulevard in Central Broward County near Fort Lauderdale area. As, per investigators findings William Allen was driving a 2006 Dodge Dakota pickup truck at that time. As Allen tried to turn left onto West Sunrise Boulevard from Northwest 31st Avenue going eastbound he hit a man who was standing in the lanes on West Sunrise Boulevard heading eastward at that time of day.Having collided with the pedestrian Allen stopped his vehicle entirely.Responders from BSO and the Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue arrived on scene.Paramedics took the injured man to Broward Health Medical Center where he stayed for a days before being transferred to hospice care.Investigators discovered that despite being, at hospice the victim could not recover from his injuries and sadly passed away. He passed away on December 19t… The investigation is still ongoing.
