BROWARD COUNTY, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide detectives are investigating a fatal head-on crash involving two vehicles after a driver was traveling in the wrong direction early Saturday morning.
BSO said the crash happened at about 3:29 a.m. on April 11 in the 3000 block of West Sample Road in unincorporated North Broward, over the Florida Turnpike overpass.
Investigators said Sult President was driving a 2006 gray Nissan Pathfinder eastbound in the westbound lanes of West Sample Road. At the same time, BSO said Nicholas Addis was driving a 2025 gray Hyundai Tucson westbound in the westbound lanes.
Detectives said both vehicles were traveling over the bridge in the center lane when they collided head-on.
The driver of the Hyundai was pronounced dead at the scene, according to BSO. The driver of the Nissan was taken by paramedics to a local hospital for treatment for possible life-threatening injuries.
BSO said the investigation remains ongoing.
For residents who travel West Sample Road, the crash happened on the stretch over the Florida Turnpike overpass in the 3000 block. BSO has not released additional details on what led up to the wrong-way driving or whether any enforcement action will follow. Traffic Homicide detectives are responsible for the investigation and will continue working to determine the circumstances of the crash.
