A tragic incident occurred in Pompano Beach where a woman lost her life following a fatal crash. The Broward Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident involving a moped style scooter and an SUV that took place in the early hours of August 5, 2024. The victim, Isabella Alzamora, succumbed to her injuries at Broward Health North after being involved in the collision. The authorities are looking into the details of the crash to determine what led to this unfortunate event. The initial examination conducted by investigators indicates that both vehicles were heading south on Southwest 46th Avenue in the right lane. The driver of the Toyota, James Garrett, failed to notice the scooter in front of his vehicle and collided with it from behind. Alzamora was thrown onto Garrett’s car hood and then propelled southward when Garrett hit the brakes.

Garrett stayed at the scene and assisted investigators. Factors such as driver impairment, speeding or mechanical issues are not believed to have played a role in this accident.

The investigation is still ongoing.
