Man On Electric Scooter Dies Days Following Crash

Detectives, from Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit are currently investigating an accident that occurred in Dania Beach resulting in the loss of a scooter riders life. Reports suggest that before 4 p.m. this past Sunday (Dec 22) Gregory Ornstein Bowers was driving a 2024 Hyundai Tuscon heading westbound along Stirling Road in the central lane when James Small was riding an electric scooter southbound across Stirling Road from north to south simultaneously. Ornstein Bowers informed the investigators that he only noticed the scooter rider when he was right in front of him and tried to swerve to prevent a collision but ended up hitting the side of the scooter instead. As a result of the crash Small was thrown off. Landed in the middle through lane. The Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue arrived promptly. Took Small to Memorial Regional Hospital where he was declared deceased on Wednesday 25 December. The investigation, into the accident is still underway.
