WEST PARK, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — The Traffic Homicide Unit of the Broward Sheriff’s Office is looking into a scooter crash that occurred in West Park.

The incident involved an unidentified adult male on a scooter and a vehicle driven by Channah Brown, a 32 year old female from West Park. The crash took place near Southwest 24th Street and Southwest 52nd Avenue in West Park around 5;15 p.m. On July 2, 2024.

After receiving a report of the collision, Broward County Regional Communications dispatched BSO deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue to the scene. Upon arrival, they found the adult male with injuries indicating he had been struck by a car.
Preliminary findings suggest that Channah Brown was driving a silver 2008 Jeep Wrangler northbound on Southwest 52nd Avenue approaching the intersection at Southwest 24th Street. Simultaneously, the man was riding an electric standup scooter eastbound on Southwest 24th Street.A man failed to stop at the stop sign and entered the intersection, crossing paths with a Jeep Wrangler. The vehicle hit the man on his right side, sending him flying northeast until he came to a stop.

He was taken to a nearby hospital but unfortunately passed away shortly after. The driver of the Jeep Wrangler stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. Speeding or impairment is not believed to have played a role in the accident.
