The Broward County Sheriffs Office Homicide Unit acted swiftly by apprehending a suspect two days after a tragic incident where a woman was fatally shot at a business on 2700 West Oakland Park Boulevard in Oakland Park around 2 p.m. Thursday July 17th. Upon receiving reports of an individual at that location the Broward County Regional Communications team sprang into action.Deputies, from Broward Sheriffs Office. Discovered an adult female victim in suite 20 with gunshot injuries.The victim was identified as Cuiyun Fu. Unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives from BSOs Crime Scene and Homicide Units were called in to investigate the case involving Chris Luchenberg and his connection to Fu, whom he had known for a couple of months prior to the incident, on Wednesday morning of July 16 when he entered Fus establishment and fatally shot her before fleeing the scene; her body was found the day. Detectives collaborated with BSOs V.I.P.E.R (Violent Intervention Proactive Enforcement Response Unit) leading to the arrest of Luchenberg on Friday morning and his subsequent booking at the BSO Main Jail, for a charge of first degree murder involving a firearm.
