The Broward Sheriffs Office Traffic Homicide Investigations (THIs)’ detectives are looking into a collision between two vehicles that led to a mans death in Wilton Manors area of Broward County Regional Communications received a report regarding a crash around 4;41 p.m. Saturday May 10 in Wilton Manors at 2400 Northwest Ninth Avenue to which Wilton Manors Police and Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue promptly responded BSO THIs detectives were called in at Wilton Manors Polices request, for investigation. The initial investigation found that a man driving a 2007 Toyota Matrix took a right turn from a parking lot onto Northwest Ninth Avenue and collided with a 2022 Nissan Verso driven by Carla Hernandez. Before the accident occurred the driver of the Nissan Verso was traveling northbound in the lane. The two vehicles crashed in a T bone style collision which resulted in both cars ending up on the raised center median. Following the collision the Toyota Matrix hit a tree before coming to a stop. The driver was taken by paramedics to a hospital, where he was declared dead by the medical staff present there.The detectives confirmed that the man was not using a seatbelt at the moment of the accident.The driver of the Nissan Versawas unharmed, in the incident.There is an investigation to determine the details surrounding the crash.
