BOYNTON BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A Brightline train struck and killed a pedestrian near Woolbright Road and the Florida East Coast Railway corridor in Boynton Beach, an active rail line that runs through eastern Palm Beach County and carries both passenger and freight traffic.

The Boynton Beach Police Department responded to the scene shortly before 8 p.m. last night. Officers arriving on scene found that a 26-year-old man had been struck by a train and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The preliminary investigation shows the man walked in front of the train prior to the impact.

No other injuries were reported. The man’s name has not been released.

The crash occurred along the Florida East Coast Railway tracks, which are used by Brightline passenger trains as well as freight trains moving through South Florida. The specific train involved was identified as a Brightline train.

The location near Woolbright Road is one of several crossings and rail-adjacent areas in Boynton Beach where trains pass through regularly at speed, and where pedestrian access near the tracks can present safety risks.

The Boynton Beach Police Department is responsible for the initial investigation into the fatal crash. At this stage, investigators have released limited details beyond the preliminary finding that the pedestrian entered the train’s path.
