BOYNTON BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — Boynton Beach Police picked up another suspect in the July 5 “Peace in the Hood” shooting, the one that sent crowds scrambling across Sara Sims Park just after 8 p.m. This time it’s 19-year-old Tevens Darnell Bradley, brought in with help from the U.S. Marshals and charged with Improper Exhibition of a Firearm, a felony offense with a gang enhancement attached according to the affidavit.

Detectives say Bradley shows up on the park’s surveillance video wearing black pants and a light-blue jacket, a gun in his hand as shots ring back and forth near the Community Deliverance Church lot. Several families were walking between the cars then, kids everywhere, since the crowd for the event had swelled to a few hundred by sundown.

This is the most recent arrest in the violent, gang related shooting so far.

Two of the earlier arrests happened in July — Javon Johnson and Kenneth Jamal Hollis — both facing attempted second-degree murder and a stack of firearm charges. Police say Johnson was seen firing while running and at one point shooting without even looking toward whoever he was aiming at. Hollis, they noted, pulled a small handgun and fired north toward the park.

Then in mid-November, officers picked up Travonte Edwards on similar attempted murder charges. Video shows him firing south, toward the church side of the lot. It unfolded fast, just a few seconds of muzzle flashes edging across the screen.

Three people were hit that night. Witnesses told detectives they first thought they were hearing fireworks. That changed in a hurry once people dropped near the cars lined along NW 9th Avenue and panic rippled through the block.

Bradley’s name surfaced in part because detectives had dealt with him before. The affidavit notes he’d already been documented as a member of the “16th Ave Boys” as of last year.

A long case, still moving.
