BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Southbound lanes at the intersection of SE Mizner Boulevard and SE 1st Street were closed Monday morning due to an accident, according to a traffic advisory from the Boca Raton Police Department.

The advisory, sent as a non-emergency alert at 8:09 a.m. Monday, said the southbound lanes of SE Mizner Boulevard/SE 1st Street are closed because of the crash. Police asked drivers to seek an alternate route.

The closure affects a key stretch in the downtown Boca Raton area, where SE Mizner Boulevard connects local traffic moving through the city. Drivers heading south through the area should expect detours and delays until the lanes reopen.

Boca Raton Police Department is the agency issuing the advisory and directing traffic around the closure. The alert did not include details on injuries, the number of vehicles involved, or how long the lanes are expected to remain closed.

What happens next is straightforward: the lanes will remain closed while the accident scene is handled and the roadway is cleared, and then traffic will be allowed through again. Residents and commuters should watch for updated advisories from Boca Raton Police and plan extra time if they typically use SE Mizner Boulevard or SE 1st Street during the morning drive.

For now, police are telling motorists to avoid the area and use an alternate route until further notice.
