BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — Michael Yacoub of the Saturnia community located in West Boca Raton has been arrested on several felonies including sexual assault, according to jail records released to Boca Post by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

According to an arrest affidavit submitted by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, 23-year-old is accused of attempting to rape a woman after she repeatedly told him “no”. The woman told deputies that at about 4 AM on Sunday, March 5th, 2023, Yacoub knocked on her front door after repeatedly calling her on her cell phone.

The woman said she got out of her bed and answered the door because she thought it may have been some sort of emergency. As she opened the door a crack, Yacoub pushed the door open and tackled her. Yacoub then allegedly told her that he wanted to have sex with her to which she replied “no”. Yacoub allegedly then took his penis out and attempted to take the woman’s shorts off. The woman says the two struggled for a while until they were both too tired to continue and he left. The report notes that this lasted for almost an hour and that she did not call the Police after he left.

Police were called later and responded to the woman’s place of employment where she told deputies about the attack. Deputies then conducted a “controlled call” between the victim and Michael Yacoub to which he acknowledged the incident, with investigators listening in. Deputies arrested Yacoub who acknowledged that he was drunk and only tried to “make a move” on the victim, exposing his penis when she said “no”.

Michael Yacoub was arrested and charged with the following:

  • 794.011(5B) ATTEMPTED SEXUAL BATTERY
  • 810.02(3A) BURGLARY OCCUPIED RESIDENCE
  • 784.03(1A1) SIMPLE BATTERY (DATING VIOLENCE)

Michael Yacoub appeared in court on Thursday morning with his mother as well as his defense attorney. The Saturnia resident is still in the custody of PBSO with a bond set at only $27,000.
