Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office tells Boca Post that a Deputy Sheriff while operating his assigned PBSO Marked patrol vehicle, was traveling East on SW 18th Street. Vehicle #2 a Black 4d Toyota Prius was traveling west on SW 18th Street. PBSO Marked Vehicle made a left-hand turn in front of vehicle # 2 causing vehicle #2 to impact the right front passenger side of the vehicle.

The deputy was transported to West Boca Medical fort with minor injuries. The driver of vehicle 2 was transported to Delray Medical Center for chest pains and shortness of breath.

PBSO tells Boca Post that the deputy was en route to a call; however, it did not require lights and sirens.

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — A PBSO patrol vehicle and a Toyota Prius with two occupants were involved in an accident near Barwood and SW 18th Street in West Boca Raton on Tuesday evening.

Sources closed to the incident tell Boca Post that a father and son occupied the Prius and have both been transported to Delray Medical Center. Both vehicles were described as having moderate damage with airbag deployment.

PBSO tells Boca Post that the deputy was also sent to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
