BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — Boca Raton stays warm and sunny today with light winds, but inland fog could turn dense early and a moderate rip current risk continues along the Palm Beaches.

A. Today’s Weather – Saturday, December 27, 2025

Boca Raton is set up for a classic late-December South Florida day: bright sun, low humidity, and temperatures that run a little warm for this time of year. The National Weather Service forecast calls for sunny skies and a high near 80 today for the area around the Boca Raton Airport, with a northwest breeze around 7 mph shifting to the northeast this afternoon as the sea breeze tries to organize.

If you’re heading out early, especially away from the coastline, keep an eye out for fog. The broader weather discussion highlights areas of patchy fog possible across the interior this morning, and it’s not the light, wispy kind in spots — guidance suggests fog could become dense at times, with visibility dropping below a quarter mile in some locations, creating hazardous commuting conditions. The fog risk is flagged for early Saturday and Sunday mornings across parts of Southwest Florida, but the discussion also notes interior fog potential again this morning and Sunday morning with light winds and enough low-level moisture.

Closer to the ocean — along the Intracoastal and the beach side of town — today should feel cleaner and clearer once the sun gets up, with that light wind and dry air keeping things stable. For drivers on the I-95 corridor, and anyone cutting west toward Lyons Road and the western neighborhoods, the early commute window is where fog would be most likely to cause sudden low visibility pockets. It’s the kind of morning where you can go from clear road to a gray wall in a few seconds.

Rain is essentially off the table today. The short-term forecast discussion points to abnormally low moisture for this time of year and expects dry and sunny days with near-zero chances for rain through the weekend. That fits the day-to-day forecast, which stays quiet and bright.

At the beaches, there’s one standout issue: rip currents. The NWS beach forecast says the Palm Beaches will have a moderate risk of rip currents this weekend as swell increases. That doesn’t mean the ocean looks rough everywhere, but it does mean conditions are more favorable for stronger pulls in the surf zone, especially near jetties and piers. If you’re out at the waterline, it’s a day to keep swimmers close and be cautious about going in deeper than you need to.

On the water, marine conditions remain on the calmer side for now. The marine forecast calls for light to moderate northerly winds into the weekend, with seas below 3 feet. One small wrinkle: a few isolated showers remain possible across the local Atlantic waters today, even while Boca itself stays dry under sunny skies. The NWS also notes that winds and seas will build early next week as a stronger cold front approaches.

Tonight stays clear and mild. The forecast calls for clear skies with a low around 63, with a light northwest wind. It’ll be comfortable outside after dark, cooler than the last few nights but still not cold by local standards.

B. Current Advisories / Watches / Warnings

  • Areas of dense fog expected early Saturday and Sunday mornings across SW Florida.
  • Moderate risk of rip currents for the Palm Beaches this weekend as swell increases.

C. 7 Day Outlook

Today (Sat): Sunny and warm, high near 80. NW wind around 7 mph becomes NE in the afternoon. Dry overall, with inland fog a concern early and a moderate rip current risk at the Palm Beaches.

Tonight: Clear, low around 63. Light NW wind.

Sunday: Sunny, high near 79. NW wind 5–7 mph becomes east in the afternoon. Another early-morning fog window is possible inland.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, low around 65. East wind around 5 mph becomes light and variable.

Monday: Sunny, high near 81. West wind 5–8 mph. Still dry and warm.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, low around 63. West wind 7–9 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny but turning breezier, high near 74. NW wind 9–13 mph with gusts up to 18 mph. This is the start of the shift toward a cooler, drier pattern as a strong cold front approaches early in the week, with the broader discussion pointing to the best chance for any front-related activity Tuesday into Wednesday.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, low around 52. NW wind around 14 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Noticeably cooler air arrives.

Wednesday: Sunny, high near 70. North wind 10–13 mph with gusts up to 18 mph. Cool snap becomes more established midweek after the front moves through.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, low around 52.

New Year’s Day (Thu): Sunny, high near 71.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, low around 53.

Friday: Sunny, high near 71.
