BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — Boca Raton stays mostly sunny and breezy Monday, with only spotty shower chances, but a high rip current risk remains in effect through Tuesday evening.

Today’s Weather – Monday, December 22, 2025

Boca Raton is in for a mostly sunny Monday with a stiff breeze that’s going to be hard to ignore, especially closer to the beach and along the Intracoastal.

The National Weather Service forecast for the area around the Boca Raton Airport calls for a high near 78 today. There is only a 20 percent chance of showers between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., so most neighborhoods should stay dry. If anything does pop up, it’s expected to be brief and light, the kind of passing shower that comes and goes before most people have even fully settled into the morning.

The bigger story today is the wind. Northeast winds are expected at 15 to 18 mph, with gusts reaching as high as 29 mph. That’s enough to make it feel choppy at the coast and noticeable even inland, including along the I-95 corridor, around Glades Road, and out toward the Lyons Road stretch and the western suburbs. It is not a cold wind, but it is a persistent one, the kind that keeps flags snapping and pushes palm fronds around all day.

With the breeze and sunshine working together, it should be a decent day for outdoor plans if you’re staying off the water. If you’re heading out for errands, you’ll feel it stepping out of your car. If you’re biking or walking, you’ll feel it even more, especially in exposed areas.

The main caution for Boca, and really the entire stretch of the South Florida Atlantic coast, is the surf and the rip current setup. A Rip Current Statement is posted, and the National Weather Service says the high rip current risk remains in effect through Tuesday evening. That means the beach may look inviting, but conditions can turn on swimmers quickly, even experienced ones.

Tonight stays breezy and a little unsettled in spots. The forecast calls for a 20 percent chance of showers after 10 p.m., with partly cloudy skies and a low around 71. Winds turn east at 20 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph, so it will be a windy night, particularly near the coast and in open areas.
