Today’s Weather - Friday, February 13, 2026

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — If you stepped outside early in Boca Raton and it felt a little hazy, you were not imagining it. The National Weather Service issued a Special Weather Statement this morning warning of reduced visibility in fog across metro Southeast Florida, with visibility down to a mile or less in spots and the potential to worsen around daybreak.

For Boca Raton itself, the day’s forecast is straightforward once the morning haze breaks. Expect a sunny sky with a high near 77. Winds start out of the northwest at 6 to 10 mph, then swing around and become northeast in the afternoon. That direction change matters locally. It is the kind of setup that can feel a touch cooler near the Boca beaches and along the Intracoastal compared to the western neighborhoods closer to Lyons Road, especially later in the day when the breeze is onshore.

Along the I-95 corridor and major east-west routes like Glades Road, this is a good day to keep an eye out early for pockets of low visibility. The fog statement notes conditions can vary quickly over short distances. If you are driving at sunrise, especially in areas where low clouds settle in, the advice from the Weather Service is simple: slow down, leave space, and use low-beam headlights.

Rain is not the main story today, but it is not a hard zero either. The marine forecast includes a slight chance of showers early this morning over the local Atlantic waters. On land, the broader forecast discussion says a few stray showers could materialize as low-level moisture trends upward, but chances remain very low overall. Most of Boca should stay dry.

Tonight turns calm and clear. The forecast calls for mostly clear skies with a low around 65. Winds stay out of the northeast at 7 to 9 mph, keeping a light breeze going overnight.

On the water, conditions remain manageable today but trend rougher this weekend. For coastal waters from Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach out 20 nautical miles, winds run north 5 to 10 knots today with seas 2 to 3 feet. The Intracoastal is expected to have light chop. Tonight, winds increase to northeast 10 to 15 knots with seas 2 to 4 feet, occasionally to 5 feet, and the Intracoastal shifts to a moderate chop.

B. Current Advisories / Watches / Warnings

Special Weather Statement: Reduced Visibility in Fog This Morning. A bank of low clouds with areas of fog is expected to affect metro Southeast Florida this morning, reducing visibility to a mile or less in some areas and potentially worsening through daybreak. Motorists are urged to use caution as visibility may vary over short distances, allow extra time, leave space between vehicles, and use low-beam headlights only.
