BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Eastbound lanes at 2000 Yamato Road were closed Thursday afternoon due to an accident, according to a traffic advisory from the Boca Raton Police Department.

The advisory was sent at 4:03 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2026. Police did not release additional details in the alert about the number of vehicles involved, injuries, or how long the closure was expected to last.

The closure affects eastbound traffic on Yamato Road at the 2000 block, a key east-west corridor in Boca Raton that carries commuter and local traffic through northern Palm Beach County. Drivers heading east in the area were told to seek an alternate route.

Boca Raton Police Department is the agency issuing the advisory and directing motorists to avoid the closed lanes. The alert was labeled non-emergency.

What happens next will depend on when the accident scene is cleared and the roadway can be reopened. No reopening time was included in the advisory.

Residents and drivers in Boca Raton should expect delays near 2000 Yamato Road while the eastbound lanes remain closed and plan extra travel time, especially for afternoon and early evening trips. Motorists should follow posted detours or directions from officers if they are in the area and use alternate routes until the closure is lifted.

This story will be updated if Boca Raton Police release additional information about the crash or the status of the roadway.
