BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A large law enforcement presence was reported Monday near the intersection of U.S. 441 and SW 3rd Street in the Sandalfoot area, where deputies had a northbound lane closed while detectives investigated a canal scene.

The activity was centered near the roadway and canal at the intersection. Deputies were on scene, and traffic was being restricted in the northbound lane as the investigation continued.

Detectives were investigating what appeared to be a body found in the canal. The person appeared to be a white male wearing black shorts and a blue shirt.

No additional identifying information was immediately available. The person’s name, age and city of residence had not been released.

The circumstances surrounding the discovery were also not immediately known. It was not clear how long the person had been in the canal, how the person died, or whether investigators were treating the death as suspicious.

Residents and drivers in the area should expect delays near U.S. 441 and SW 3rd Street while deputies and detectives remain on scene. The lane closure affected northbound traffic near the intersection.

This is a developing public safety investigation in the Sandalfoot area. More information is expected once law enforcement completes its initial work at the scene and releases additional details.
