BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A civil lawsuit filed in Palm Beach County claims a woman was hurt after slipping and falling on an allegedly dangerous sidewalk condition at Somerset Academy’s Boca Raton campus.

The case, Linda Rolle v. Somerset Academy, Inc., Case No. 502026CA004242XXXAMB, was filed April 15, 2026 in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in and for Palm Beach County, Florida. The complaint was filed on behalf of plaintiff Linda Rolle by lawyers with Krakower Tabb Law. No defense law firm is listed in the initial complaint.

According to the complaint, Rolle is a Broward County resident and Somerset Academy, Inc. is a Florida corporation doing business in the state. The lawsuit identifies the property at issue as 333 SW 4th Avenue in Boca Raton, where the school allegedly owned, controlled, possessed, and maintained the premises. The complaint says Rolle was lawfully on the property as an invitee.

The filing alleges the incident happened on or about Feb. 27, 2025, when Rolle was at Somerset Academy at that Boca Raton address. According to the complaint, the school owed a duty to keep the premises in a reasonably safe condition for members of the public, including Rolle.

Rolle claims Somerset Academy, through its employees, servants, or agents acting within the course and scope of their employment, created or allowed a dangerous condition to exist on the property. The complaint describes that condition as uneven concrete on the school sidewalk, which it says created a dangerous slippery surface and caused Rolle to slip and fall.

The lawsuit further alleges the defendant knew or should have known about the condition and failed to warn the public, or Rolle in particular, about the danger. In the alternative, the complaint claims the condition was allowed to remain in place long enough that a reasonable inspection would have uncovered it.

As a result of the alleged negligence, Rolle claims she suffered injuries to her body and extremities, along with pain, mental anguish, and medical expenses. The complaint also says she suffered permanent injury within a reasonable degree of medical probability or aggravation of a pre-existing condition, that her ability to work was impaired, and that she suffered loss of earnings and may continue to suffer losses and impairments in the future.

The complaint seeks compensatory damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs, and demands a jury trial on all issues triable in the case. As with all civil complaints, the allegations are claims by the plaintiff and have not been proven in court.
