Today's Weather - Wednesday, April 29, 2026

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Sunny and warm today in Boca Raton, with a high near 84 and a light southwest breeze turning southeast with the afternoon sea breeze. Skies stay mostly clear tonight with a mild low around 72. Dry weather continues Thursday and Friday, with highs climbing into the upper 80s. The bigger story is the weekend: Saturday looks hot and breezy, then showers and thunderstorms become likely Sunday into Monday

Boca Raton is set up for a classic late-April warm stretch, and the National Weather Service says the atmosphere is being dominated by a broad “lid” of high pressure aloft expanding east from Texas and Mexico across the Gulf and Florida. In plain terms, that pattern favors sinking air, fewer clouds, and very limited rain chances through the end of the workweek.

At the ground level, high pressure just offshore in the western Atlantic is keeping the air dry today. That’s why the forecast stays solidly sunny, with Boca topping out near 84 degrees.

Winds start light, then the afternoon sea breeze turns winds more southeasterly near the coast. A front will be moving into Florida, but it’s expected to stall well to the north over northern and central parts of the state through Thursday.

Because it doesn’t get close enough to South Florida, it won’t be a rain-maker for Boca. What it will do is help turn winds more southerly to southwesterly late week, which pulls in even warmer air.

For the Boca Raton coastal waters (Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach), winds stay relatively manageable today at about 5 to 10 knots, with seas generally 2 to 4 feet (occasionally up to 5 feet). South winds increase tonight into Thursday, then turn more south to southwest late week.

By Saturday, winds are forecast to strengthen to 15 to 20 knots, with periods of higher gusts and a choppier Intracoastal—conditions that can be tougher for small craft and paddle sports. Seas remain mostly 2 to 4 feet, but can run higher at times, and winds/seas will be higher in and near any thunderstorms Sunday.
