Today's Weather - Wednesday, April 1, 2026

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Boca Raton will run mostly sunny and breezy today, with just a small (20%) chance of a brief shower early this morning. Highs top out near 78 with an east wind around 10–15 mph and occasional higher gusts. Tonight stays mild and a bit more humid near the coast, with a low near 71 and a small chance of late-night showers or a thunderstorm toward daybreak. The main headline remains the beach: dangerous rip currents continue at Atlantic beaches through the work week

Today’s weather in Boca Raton is being driven by a large area of high pressure parked over the western Atlantic and extending into South Florida. In plain terms, that setup keeps the atmosphere fairly stable and limits how tall clouds can grow, which is why most neighborhoods will stay dry and bright for much of Wednesday.

The National Weather Service notes a “cap” in the atmosphere along with plenty of dry air above the surface. That combination tends to shut down widespread rain, but it doesn’t eliminate it completely.

A few quick, low-topped showers can still form over the warm Gulf Stream and ride the brisk east wind toward the coast early in the day. If you see a fast-moving sprinkle, it should be brief.

Winds remain a key part of the forecast. Even though the pressure difference relaxes a bit, the onshore flow stays strong enough to keep a steady easterly breeze going.

Boaters and beachgoers should plan for choppy conditions driven by persistent east winds. Nearshore Atlantic waters off Boca (Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach) run around 15 knots today with gusts near 20 knots, building seas to 3–4 feet (occasionally 5).

Tonight and Thursday, winds increase to 15–20 knots with seas 3–5 feet (occasionally 6), and Thursday night into Friday could be rougher with occasional 8-foot seas offshore and gusts up to 25 knots. Intracoastal waters will be choppy in exposed areas.

Dangerous rip currents remain the top coastal hazard; swim near lifeguards and avoid entering the surf if you’re not a strong swimmer.

Current Advisories / Watches / Warnings

  • High Rip Current Risk through Friday evening for FLZ168-172-173.
  • Small Craft Should Exercise Caution (Atlantic coastal waters from Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach out 20 NM and 20–60 NM).

7 Day Outlook

  • Sunday: Lower coverage of storms (around 20%) with more sun returning. High near 81. Winds ease some compared to late week, which may gradually help marine conditions, though surf can stay active.
  • Monday: Mostly sunny overall, but scattered showers return (around 30%). High near 81. Humidity edges up, and any shower could be brief but heavy.
  • Tuesday: The wettest day in this outlook with showers and thunderstorms likely (around 60%). High near 80. Plan for multiple rounds of rain and lightning delays, especially during the afternoon.
