Dr. Steven Friedenthal Arrested

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — Dr. Steven Friedenthal was arrested and charged with 30 felonies for possessing hundreds of video files depicting child sexual abuse material.

According to PBSO investigators, the investigation started in January 2024 when PBSO received several CyberTIP reports from NCMEC (National Center of Missing and Exploited Children) about a Google user, later determined to be Dr. Steven Friedenthal, with hundreds of files depicting child sexual abuse material stored on a Google Drive account.

According to a detailed report reviewed by Boca Post, PBSO deputies subpoenaed and reviewed hundreds of videos depicting child sexual abuse material, mostly of young boys. The investigation led deputies to Dr. Steven Friedenthal’s personal residence at Guilford D in Boca Raton’s Century Village. Century Village residents reported seeing a large law enforcement presence, including a SWAT van, near Guilford D, when Friedenthal was arrested early on Wednesday morning.

According to several medical websites and Friedenthal’s own Facebook account, the 63-year-old is a psychiatry specialist in Boca Raton, FL. Several sources say that Friedenthal has nearly 40 years of experience in the medical field. While Dr. Steven Friedenthal is considered innocent until proven guilty, he is currently charged with 30 felony counts of 775.0847(2) Possession Of 10 Or More Files Of Child Pornography.
