UPDATE

Boca Post has redacted the names of all individuals in this article due to some circumstances around the case that have recently surfaced. The father of the young man who was arrested for selling marijuana tells Boca Post that getting arrested was probably the best thing that could have happened to his son at the time.

The family believes that Boca Raton Police may have arrested the young man in order to get to his supplier.

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — A Boca Raton man is facing drug charges, according to jail records released to Boca Post by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

A 22-year-old man, of Gables Town Colony in Boca Raton, has been arrested by the Boca Raton Police Department. Boca Post has been notified that the New York native has been charged with two counts each of “MARIJUANA-SELL – SCHEDULE I” and “COCAINE-SELL – SCHEDULE II.”

According to a police affidavit submitted by Boca Raton Police Department, On March 1st, 2022, the man sold one ounce of marijuana to an undercover agent for $200. Officers say he delivered the marijuana in his 2019 Audi Q5 to the undercover agent at Obrian’s Irish Pub in Boca Raton.

Later that month, the officers coordinated another deal with the young man. This time, the young man and the undercover officers negotiated a price of $320 for 1 ounce of marijuana and 1 gram of cocaine. The undercover agent then met with the young man at the Gables Town Colony parking lot where he received the drugs in exchange for the agreed-upon price.

The BRPD undercover detective then met with the young man again near The Black Rose Irish Pub at 234 Federal Highway as agreed upon for a third transaction. The young man showed up in his 2019 Audi Q5 and met with the detective where they exchanged $260 for 4.6 grams of cocaine.

Boca PD’s VIN group has made several arrests in recent days including one we previously reported on about the FAU Student Arrested For Selling Cocaine And MDMA.

Some of our readers have criticized Boca PD for making these low-level arrests, calling the group “dime bag Miami Vice”.

Others have made the case that you have to start with the low-level criminals to get to the bigger ones. In either case, there is clearly a market for these drugs or these drug dealers would not be selling.
