Lauren Koenig Of Boca Raton Arrested For Robbery

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — Lauren Koenig of Boca Raton was arrested for robbery after Police say she pepper sprayed a grocery store manager after shoplifting.

The Palm Beach Gardens Police Department arrested Koenig on a warrant originally filed for a shoplifting-turned-robbery incident at a grocery store on Tuesday, May 30th, 2023. According to an arrest affidavit, Lauren Koenig, 20, of Boca Raton, was observed selecting merchandise she then concealed in a black backpack. Koenig was approached by an assistant store manager when she became irate and left a cart full of merchandise. Koenig then exited the store with the backpack still containing some items, totalling $133.

When Koenig passed the front exit, she extended her right hand toward the face of the assistant store manager and discharged the mace. Koenig then jumped into the passenger seat of a white Subaru Crosstek, that was conveniently parked in the fire lane.

Officers were able to locate the vehicle and get a plate number. A photo lineup was later conducted and Police filed for a warrant for Koenig’s arrest.

Only a week before this incident, Koenig was arrested by Boynton Beach PD for shoplifting nearly $1,500 from Walmart. In this case, Koenig and her brother were pulled over by BBPD after Walmart loss prevention personnel reported the incident. Lauren Koenig was arrested for retail grand theft (felony) and escorted to the PBSO jail. While in custody, she was charged with the robbery charge from the Palm Beach Gardens incident.

It appears that Lauren’s brother, Brandon Koenig, was not arrested for his actions in either of the incidents.

  2. She should’ve moved to California or New York to shoplift, as store employees there are not allowed to stop and chase muggers. 😁😜 That’s the crazy world we are now live in. 🤦‍♀️😫😢 Thanks goodness for common sense of Florida lawmakers. Thieves have to learn their lessons!
