Shooting In Coconut Reef Silver Lakes Community Kills One Juvenile In Pembroke Pines

UPDATE – 7/5/22

Pembroke Pines PD says they have made an arrest for this shooting. According to the investigation, 24-year-old Francy Marcos unintentionally discharged the firearm, shooting the juvenile.

As a result of the investigation, Pembroke PD has charged Francy Marcos with manslaughter with a firearm.

UPDATE – 6/13/22

Pembroke Pines PD tells Boca Post that the shooting was accidental. According to police, a woman accidentally discharged the firearm while mishandling it. The single-shot struck the boy. The boy was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

Police have not disclosed any additional information regarding the boy’s age or the relationship of the woman to the boy.

PEMBROKE PINES, FL (Boca Post) — Police tell Boca Post that a juvenile has been killed in a shooting that occurred in the Coconut Reef community located in the Silver Lakes development in Pembroke Pines.

Pembroke Pines Police have only told us that they are investigating a shooting where they say a juvenile has been killed.

No information about the victim has been released at this time.

Police say that all involved parties are cooperative with Police and that there is no threat to the public.

Police say that the case remains open.

It is unknown at this time if this is an accidental shooting or a homicide.
