WEST PALM BEACH, FL — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving a pickup truck on Southern Boulevard on Saturday, July 25, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
PBSO's Traffic Division identified the motorcyclist as Eury Abreu Herrera, 33, of West Palm Beach. He was riding a 2023 Suzuki GSXR-1000 and was listed with fatal injuries in the agency's log entry. The fatality was recorded at 5:06 a.m.
The crash was reported at about 5 a.m. in the 8100 block of Southern Boulevard, PBSO said.
According to the sheriff's office narrative, the motorcycle was traveling westbound on Southern Boulevard in the second lane from the median.
A 2025 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Diosdel Alonso, 31, of West Palm Beach, was exiting the parking lot at 8199 Southern Boulevard at the same time, PBSO said. Investigators wrote that the driver of the pickup failed to observe the motorcycle and made a wide right turn across all lanes of travel.
As the pickup moved toward the inside lane nearest the median, the motorcycle struck the left rear of the truck, according to the narrative.
The motorcycle was redirected to the southwest and came to rest against the median curb, PBSO said. The rider was ejected and came to rest in the eastbound lanes of Southern Boulevard.
The pickup came to a controlled stop in the lane nearest the median, according to the report.
Alonso was wearing a seat belt and was listed with no injuries, PBSO said. The log entry lists no safety equipment for the motorcycle rider.
The sheriff's office log entry does not list any charges as pending, filed, or made in connection with the crash. It also does not indicate whether any roadway was closed, how long traffic was affected, or whether additional witnesses were involved. Those details were not included in the information PBSO released.
PBSO's Traffic Division handles fatal crash investigations in the areas it patrols, and the agency assigned two investigators and two case numbers to the incident.
The 8100 block of Southern Boulevard sits along a wide, high-speed east-west corridor lined with commercial driveways and parking lot exits, where drivers turning out of businesses cross multiple lanes of through traffic. Drivers and riders using that stretch in the early morning hours should expect limited light and vehicles entering the roadway from private lots.
