Today's Weather - Saturday, July 11, 2026

BOCA RATON, FL — Expect a hot, mostly sunny Saturday with a Heat Advisory and heat index values pushing 105 to 109 degrees. A brief morning lull in rain is likely, then a few showers and thunderstorms may develop late afternoon into early evening, with a couple storms capable of gusty winds. Highs top out near 91, and it stays warm tonight with lows around 81. Sunday looks sunnier and a bit drier overall, but the heat remains intense

South Florida stays under the influence of strong high pressure over the western Atlantic today, a setup that keeps the air moving in off the ocean and helps temperatures climb quickly after sunrise. On top of that, the National Weather Service notes an upper-level disturbance approaching from the southeast that helped spark overnight storms.

That overnight activity should fade early, setting up a quieter morning for Boca Raton. The bigger question is late day.

With daytime heating and that lingering upper-level support, scattered showers and thunderstorms can redevelop during the afternoon and early evening. Coverage is not expected to be widespread, but any storm that forms can briefly turn the weather rough with lightning, a quick downpour, and pockets of gusty wind.

If you have outdoor plans, the most likely window for a storm is late afternoon into early evening. Heat is the main impact.

For Boca Raton and the nearby Atlantic waters (Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach), winds stay generally southeast around 5 to 10 knots today with seas around 2 feet, and the Intracoastal running a light chop. Boating conditions are mostly manageable, but keep a close eye on the sky this afternoon and early evening: thunderstorms can bring sudden gusts, higher waves, and dangerous lightning.

Tonight through early next week, winds remain light (often 5 to 10 knots) with seas mostly 2 feet or less, trending drier on Sunday and beyond. Always expect locally higher winds and seas near any storm.
