Today's Weather - Tuesday, June 30, 2026

BOCA RATON, FL — Expect a mostly sunny and very hot Tuesday, with a high near 92 and heat index values pushing up around 105 during the afternoon. A few showers or thunderstorms could pop up after mid-afternoon, but coverage should stay limited today. Tonight is mostly clear and warm near 79, with a small chance of a late-night shower or storm. Rain chances climb noticeably Wednesday and Thursday as deeper humidity returns, and any storms that form could be slow-moving with brief heavy downpours

South Florida stays under the influence of a broad dome of high pressure aloft today, which helps keep the morning and early afternoon mostly sunny and hot. The National Weather Service notes that the bigger day-to-day change is not a strong front moving through Boca, but a front that stalls to our north in Central Florida.

Even so, that nearby boundary helps pull in deeper tropical humidity as the week goes on. Today, winds remain light and are largely driven by the sea breeze.

With the air still not fully “loaded” with moisture, storm coverage should be on the lower side in Boca Raton, lining up with the point forecast’s 20% chance after 3 p.m. Still, any storm that does develop can produce a quick burst of lightning, gusty wind, and a brief downpour.

Heat is the main impact again. The forecast calls for moderate to major HeatRisk, with peak heat index values generally 105 to 110 across the region.

For the Boca Raton coastal waters (Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach), winds stay gentle today—around 5 knots—shifting from southwest to northwest, then turning northeast later. Seas remain low, generally under 2 feet, with light chop in the Intracoastal.

Tonight brings northeast winds 5 to 10 knots and a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Wednesday and Thursday keep seas mostly 2 to 3 feet offshore, with generally light winds.

The main marine concern is thunderstorms: brief higher winds and seas are possible in and near storms, along with frequent lightning and sudden visibility drops in heavy rain. Beachgoers should also keep an eye on changing conditions as the onshore breeze develops each afternoon.
