FLORIDA — A Florida Silver Alert has been issued for an 87-year-old man reported missing from Miami, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

FDLE identified the missing person as Rodrigo Portuondo. He is described as a white-Hispanic male, 5 feet 7 inches tall and about 130 pounds, with white hair and brown eyes.

The last known area listed on the alert is Miami in Dade County.

Silver Alerts are used in Florida to help locate missing older adults, and the public is asked to watch for the person and report tips quickly. In South Florida, these alerts can move fast across county lines, and information from residents, drivers, and businesses can matter.

Authority for the investigation and public tips sits with the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, which is the agency FDLE directed the public to contact.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office at 305-743-7433 or call 911.

FDLE’s official flyer is posted at http://www.fdle.state.fl.us/MCICSearch/Flyer.asp?ID=516854.
