BELLE GLADE, FL — A driver was killed in a crash involving a pickup truck and a parked semi trailer on South U.S. Highway 27 near Belle Glade, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
PBSO identified the driver as Oscar Vidal Arroliga, 65, of Hialeah Gardens. The crash happened at 5:27 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2026, near 16100 South U.S. Highway 27 in western Palm Beach County, according to a PBSO Traffic Division report.
Investigators said Arroliga was driving a 2006 Nissan pickup southbound on South U.S. Highway 27. For reasons not yet known, the pickup drove onto the west shoulder of the roadway.
A 2006 Volvo semi had been parked on the shoulder because of mechanical issues, according to PBSO.
The front of Arroliga’s pickup struck the rear trailer of the parked semi, the report states. Arroliga was pronounced dead at the crash scene from injuries sustained in the crash.
PBSO said next of kin has been notified.
