BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2021) — Palm Beach County says no more facemask requirement.

On November 16th, 2021 Palm Beach County officially repealed the Facial Coverings Policy of 8/2/21 for County Staff and the General Public in County-Owned, with the exception of Palm Tran and Palm Beach International Airport.

Of course this repeal specifically means that Palm Beach County cannot force anyone to wear a mask in a county owned building with the exception of the airport and the Palm Tran bus system. This repeal went in to affect November 16th at 11:59PM.

The decision behind this repeal was reportedly guided by Florida Department of Health Palm Beach County and the CDC’s COVID Data tracker. The CDC recently released a report saying Palm Beach County’s community risk score has decreased below 5% for the last five weeks.

While it is still strongly recommended that everyone wears a mask, it is no longer required. The memo also states that it is recommended that people get vaccinated and practice all of the social distancing policies. However, none of that is currently being required.

It is worth noting that many local municipalities generally follow the lead of the county government. Many internal policies are guided by the policies that come out of this office.
