15-Year-Old Charged With Murder In Hollywood Shooting, Police Say

Hollywood Police say a 15-year-old turned himself in and was charged in connection with an April shooting death on Farragut Street.

A Hollywood Police Department media release dated May 29, 2026, announced an arrest in an April 22 homicide investigation on Farragut Street.

HOLLYWOOD, FL — A 15-year-old has been arrested and charged in a Hollywood homicide investigation stemming from an April shooting on Farragut Street, according to the Hollywood Police Department.

Police identified the juvenile as Gentle Edwards and said he turned himself in at the Hollywood Police Department shortly before 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2026. He was arrested on charges of first-degree murder with a firearm and aggravated assault with a firearm, according to a May 29 media release from the department.

The case began on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, shortly before 9:30 p.m., when officers responded to a shooting in the 7300 block of Farragut Street. According to Hollywood Police, officers found one gunshot victim at the scene. The victim was pronounced dead there.

Police did not identify the victim in the release and did not provide additional details about what investigators believe led to the shooting. The release also did not include information about any upcoming court hearing.

Edwards is currently being held at JAC, according to Hollywood Police.

The charges are allegations. No conviction was reported in the police release.
