BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Two women were arrested by the Boca Raton Police Department after an investigation into coordinated retail thefts at the Town Center at Boca Raton, with officers alleging the pair worked together to steal thousands of dollars in merchandise from a Macy’s store.

Arrest records show Vintoya Charneice Woodard, 30, of Pompano Beach, and Vinquisha Chantiere Woodard, 32, of Lauderhill, were taken into custody on April 21, 2026. Both were booked into the Palm Beach County Jail following the incident at the Macy’s located at 5700 Glades Road.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed by Boca Raton Police, officers responded to the store on April 20, 2026, around 9:04 p.m. after receiving a report of retail theft. Loss prevention personnel told police they had identified a pattern of thefts occurring on Monday and Wednesday evenings and were actively monitoring for suspects.

A store employee reported observing two women arrive in separate vehicles and park near the loading dock on the north side of the mall. The women were seen entering the store through an unlocked door and carrying large orange shopping bags commonly used in organized retail theft schemes.

Investigators allege one of the women, identified as Vinquisha Woodard, carried a large orange bag, while Vintoya Woodard carried a smaller one. Both were seen selecting merchandise and placing items into the bags before exiting the store without paying.

Loss prevention staff told police the women bypassed all points of sale and left the store with the merchandise. Officers with the Boca Raton Police Department took both into custody shortly afterward.

Store representatives later provided an inventory of the stolen items. According to the affidavit, merchandise recovered from Vinquisha Woodard’s bag totaled approximately $3,530, while items recovered from Vintoya Woodard totaled about $1,394. The combined value of the merchandise was $4,924.

During the investigation, police reviewed surveillance footage from inside and outside the store. One of the suspects, Vintoya Woodard, admitted to shoplifting after being advised of her rights, stating she and her sister entered through the loading dock and took items from the store before leaving without paying.

Both women were charged under Florida law with retail theft and coordinating with others to commit theft. Jail records show additional charges including coordinating theft involving property valued over $3,000, a felony offense, and retail theft exceeding $750.

Bond was set at $7,000 for the felony charge and $3,000 for the retail theft charge in one case. In a related booking, bond amounts were listed higher, reflecting the severity of the coordinated theft allegations.

Court records indicate both defendants were ordered to have no contact with the victim location, identified as Macy’s and the Town Center at Boca Raton mall. They were also scheduled for a first appearance hearing on April 21, 2026, with additional court dates set in May and June.

The Boca Raton Police Department is the primary investigating agency, with the case proceeding through Palm Beach County’s court system. A probable cause determination has already been made, allowing the charges to move forward.

Residents and businesses in the area have seen increased attention on organized retail theft in recent years, particularly at large shopping centers like Town Center. Police have not indicated whether additional suspects are being sought in connection with this case.

The case remains active as it moves through the court process. Both defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
