BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) —  Boca Raton Police Department arrested Emre Atici, 24, of Boca Raton, for several drug charges after selling Fentanyl to an undercover narcotics detective multiple times.

The investigation into Atici’s dealings began when a tipster reported that Atici was the drug dealer responsible for a Fentanyl overdose death in November of 2021. Further, police suspect Atici was the dealer responsible for another overdose death they investigated in March of 2021.

BRPD commenced an undercover narcotics operation where they documented the purchase of Fentanyl and Heroin from Atici multiple times. Multiple transactions were completed by proxy at Fig Park, where Atici would pick up cash left by detectives, and then leave the drugs tucked in a park seat. In one of the documented transactions, only 855 feet from Appleseed Preschool, Atici left Fentanyl in a baggy taped to a stop sign pole.

Court documents show that Atici is no stranger to felony drug charges. Starting in 2017, when he was just 19, Atici was arrested for several drug possession and paraphernalia charges. He was then arrested in 2019 on similar charges. Both times the courts were very generous and down filed the cases or made a deal with Atici.

Atici has a bond set at $57,000. The judge has required that proof of funding be shown to the court before honoring any cash bonds.

Atici is currently in custody of the PBSO jail facing the following charges:

  • 2 counts of 893.13(1C1) SALE OF FENTANYL W/IN 1000 FT OF A PARK
  • 4 counts of 934.215 USE TWO WAY DEVICE TO FACILITATE A FELONY
  • 893.13(1C1) SALE OF CATHINONE W/IN 1000 FEET OF A PARK
  • 893.13(6A) POSSESSION OF COCAINE
