DELRAY BEACH, FL (Boca Post) — A Delray Beach woman was killed Friday night when she was hit by a truck while crossing Atlantic Avenue with her 1 year old baby.

Maria Gonzalez Orandez, 29, of Delray Beach, was crossing Atlantic Ave near the 9700 block when she was hit and killed by a driver of a Ford F-150. According to a PBSO crash report, the woman was pushing her child in a cart when her path crossed that of the F-150.

The child was transported to Delray Medical Center due to the injuries sustained during the accident. Alcohol or drugs are not a contributing factor according to authorities.

The rural area of Atlantic Ave, where this accident occurred, has no sidewalks or pedestrian crosswalks. The accident occurred at 6:57PM, so limited visibility certainly could have been a factor. The 30 year old driver pulled over and stayed at the scene for authorities.
