BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — Deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office responded late Friday morning to a report of a body floating in the water along the 6800 block of Town Harbour Boulevard in Boca Raton.

The emergency call reached the authorities at 10 a.m. The responding officers discovered an unresponsive Hispanic adult male floating in the canal. Members of PBSO’s Marine Unit entered the water to recover the body, according to officials.

The man’s body was later transported to the Palm Beach County Medical Examiner’s Office, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death.

At this stage of the investigation, deputies say there are no signs of foul play.

The authorities have not revealed the man’s identity because they want to reach out to his family members before doing so. Additional details are expected once the medical examiner completes the autopsy and investigators confirm the circumstances surrounding the death.

The residents of Boca Raton observed the police and emergency responders working along the canal from their safe distance during the morning hours of Saturday. The area became empty during the first part of the afternoon.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said it will share more information as it becomes available.
