The Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit detectives are currently looking into a crash in Oakland Park that resulted in one of the passengers losing their life.The incident took place after 8 PM on Sunday evening of April 27th at the junction of Northeast 15th Avenue and East Oakland Park Boulevard.As per reports from authorities Jhanne Teo and two other passengers were inside a 2010 Toyota Corolla heading eastbound, along East Oakland Park Boulevard.Simultaneously Carlon Cartwright Jr.was driving westward in a 2015 Hyundai Accent. Detectives mentioned that during the incident the Toyota driver tried to perform a U turn towards the west but was hit by the side of the Hyundai on the drivers side.The collision caused the Toyota to veer towards the northwest and hit a fire hydrant.After that both vehicles came to a stop, at the corner of the intersection. BSO deputies and Oakland Park Fire Rescue arrived at the scene. Took Teofilo and his companion Timothy Magill to a nearby hospital for medical care after a Toyota driver was involved in an accident, with a Corolla carrying a juvenile passenger as well. Teofilo and the juveniles injuries were reported to be non life threatening while Magill was listed in condition after complaining of no injuries initially and staying at the scene during investigations. Sadly on Wednesday night of April 30th at 10;56 pm Magill passed away according to records. The investigation was handed over to the detectives, in BSOs Traffic Homicide Unit the week and they are still looking into the details of the crash.
