The Broward County Sheriffs Office Traffic Homicide Unit is looking into a collision that resulted in the death of a pedestrian on February 8 in Oakland Park in the morning around 4;42 a.m. BSO Traffic Homicide Unit investigators and Oakland Park Fire Rescue were informed and rushed to the site of an incident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian near the 1600 block of Oakland Park Boulevard. Upon arrival, at the scene deputies found an adult male pedestrian lying on the road pavement Emergency personnel transported him to Broward Health Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. The initial inquiry showed that the driver of the vehicle was heading east on Oakland Park Boulevard when the vehicle hit the pedestrian and then left the scene according to investigators. They report that the collision took place near a bus bench on the road.
