The detectives from the North Lauderdale District of the Broward Sheriff’s Office have decided to share surveillance footage of individuals sought in relation to three cases of vehicle break ins and numerous unauthorized credit card transactions that took place in North Lauderdale recently. As per the investigators findings the incidents of car theft and credit card scams occurred within the period spanning from November 2024, to January 2025. During that period mentioned by detectives yet unidentified person(s) broke into a car to the 1200 block of Hampton Boulevard and two other cars in the range of 1300 to 1400 blocks of Avon Lane.The thieves took belongings and credit cards from the vehicles.To investigate further detectives found out that the stolen credit cards were used to buy cuisine and tobacco products at different stores in North Lauderdale.A surveillance video from one of the shops captures two men who seem to be, in their late teens standing at the counter and ordering food. One person is dressed in a hoodie with a graphic T shirt under it; the other individual is wearing a dark graphic T shirt paired with blue jeans.The person in the hoodie gives the cashier a stolen credit card after placing a cellphone. What seems to be a tobacco item, on the counter.When the first card doesn’t work for the transaction the person hands another stolen credit card to the cashier. Successfully completes the purchase. The thieves managed to steal $3, 385 worth of items and money in total and also spent about $152 fraudulently through credit card transactions.
