BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2022) — PBSO tells Boca Post that two men have drowned in the canal near the end of Lox Road in Unincorporated Boca Raton near the Broward county line.

PBSO tells Boca Post that a family was fishing at the dead end of Lox Road, unincorporated Boca Raton, when for unknown reasons two adult males entered the water, went into distress, fell underwater, and did not resurface.

A third male entered the water to try to assist the two males. He quickly realized he was unable to help and returned to shore to call 911.  BSO responded to the scene and determined the area belonged to PBSO.

PBSO responded and immediately called PBSO Marine and FWC to begin a recovery mission.  Shortly before 6:00 pm, marine unit deputies and FWC officers recovered both males deceased.

Sources close to the incident tell Boca Post that there were some jurisdictional questions surrounding the incident. BSO reportedly used their aviation unit to monitor the situation and notified PBSO and PBCFR.

Ultimately, the scene was turned over to PBSO and FWC who then began the recovery operation.
