WEST PALM BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — A West Palm Beach domestic violence call led deputies to discover a man using a sword to attack his relative. The suspect failed to comply with orders to release the weapon so a deputy ended up killing him. Medical teams performed life-saving procedures but both the victim and suspect died at the location. An investigation is underway.

According to PBSO, On April 26, 2025, shortly after 3:00 a.m., deputies responded to an armed domestic violence incident in the 6400 block of Emerald Dunes Drive, West Palm Beach.

Upon arrival, deputies learned that an armed confrontation is occurring between two adult family members inside the residence. As deputies entered the home, they encountered a male actively stabbing another adult male with a sword. Deputies issued verbal commands for the suspect to drop the weapon; however, the suspect failed to comply, resulting in a deputy discharging his firearm, striking the suspect.

Deputies immediately rendered medical aid to both the victim and the suspect. Despite these efforts, both individuals succumbed to their injuries.

In accordance with standard department protocol, the involved deputy has been placed on administrative leave with pay.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Division, the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement are actively investigating this incident.
