BMW Crashes Into School Bus After Suspicious Incident At Wellington Bank

Update from PBSO – 8/12/22:

PBSO investigators say that a gold 2018 BMW 530I was westbound on Aero Club Dr. after being involved in another incident. Upon sight of law enforcement, the BMW sped up to a high rate of speed.

A school bus was eastbound on Aero Club Dr., turning north onto Cedar Bluff Pl. Due to the speed of the BMW, and the curve of the roadway, the bus driver was unable to see the BMW prior to turning.

The BMW struck the rear passenger side of the bus (directly behind the rear wheels) causing the BMW to rotate clockwise, coming to rest on the northeast corner of the intersection, facing northeast. The bus was rotated clockwise and continued off the roadway into hedges. The bus came to rest partially off the roadway, facing northeast.

The driver of the BMW and rear passenger (driver side) fled the scene. The front passenger was pinned in the front seat and sustained minor injuries. The rear passenger (passenger side) sustained serious injuries.

One child on the bus sustained minor injuries.

Update from PBSO – 8/11/22:

After further investigation, detectives learned shortly before the crash occurred, at 2:00 pm, a male walked into the local bank and attempted to make a fraudulent withdrawal under a fictitious name. While inside the bank, bank personnel became suspicious of the male suspect and called 911. The male suspect began to get nervous and walked out of the bank to an awaiting gold BMW which was believed to be occupied by four individuals.  Bank personnel witnessed the vehicle leave the area at a high rate of speed.

After the crash occurred two occupants inside the vehicle fled the scene and two occupants stayed behind one of which is the suspect who attempted to make the fraudulent withdrawal.  Both occupants were transported to a local hospital.

Boca Post has identified one of the suspects as David Daniels from the Orlando area.

Daniels has been charged with F.S.S. 817.568 (2)(a) Criminal Use of Personal Identification, 812.014(2)(c)(1) Grand Theft, 817.60 (6)(a) Forgery of a Credit Card(6 counts), 322.212 Unauthorized Possession of a DL(4 Counts).
