Today’s Weather – Thursday, February 19, 2026

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Boca Raton is waking up to another warm, mostly quiet weather day, the kind that looks perfect through the windshield on the I 95 commute and feels great in the shade but comes with a serious beach warning that should not get ignored.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for mostly sunny skies today with a high near 80 degrees around the Boca Raton Airport area. Winds stay fairly light, coming in from the southeast at 5 to 11 mph. That keeps the air comfortable and the afternoon sea breeze noticeable, especially along the Intracoastal and on the barrier island.

Tonight stays mild. Expect partly cloudy skies with a low around 68. Winds turn southerly overnight at 6 to 11 mph. If you are out later near Glades Road or heading west toward Lyons Road and the inland neighborhoods, visibility issues are something to keep in mind. The forecast discussion notes areas of fog developing early this morning across inland areas, with another round of fog possible late tonight into early Friday morning. The worst of it is expected to focus inland, but it is the kind of setup that can still surprise drivers in darker pockets away from the beaches.

The bigger headline today is the surf. A Rip Current Statement is posted for coastal Palm Beach County, and the Weather Service is clear about the threat: dangerous rip currents are expected, and the high rip current risk remains in effect through Friday evening. Even strong swimmers can get pulled away from shore into deeper water. If you are planning a beach day, the guidance is simple and direct: swim near a lifeguard. If you get caught, relax and float, do not fight the current, and try to swim parallel to shore if you can. If you cannot get out, face the beach and signal for help.

For boaters and anyone watching conditions along the inlets, the marine forecast keeps a gentle to moderate south to southeasterly flow in place through the end of the week. For the coastal waters from Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach, seas run 2 to 4 feet today, occasionally up to 5 feet, with south winds 5 to 10 knots increasing to 10 to 15 knots late. The Intracoastal is expected to have light chop. Tonight continues with south winds 10 to 15 knots and seas 2 to 4 feet, occasionally to 5, again with light chop on the Intracoastal.

The overall pattern stays warm through the end of the week, with the Weather Service highlighting very warm temperatures area wide into most of the upcoming weekend. That tracks with the extended forecast, which keeps Boca Raton in the low 80s for the next couple of days before a notable shift arrives late Sunday into early next week.
