BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A Boca Raton-based religious organization visited the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office district headquarters this week, delivering appreciation gift bags to deputies and staff while law enforcement officials continue expanding security measures for houses of worship across the county.

Ariella, representing the Boca Jewish Center, stopped by the PBSO Boca Raton District office with prepared gift bags for deputies and civilian personnel assigned to the district. The visit was intended as a gesture of thanks for the work being done locally to maintain public safety.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office operates district substations throughout the county, including the Boca Raton District, which oversees patrol operations, community policing, and response coordination across its service area. Deputies assigned to the district handle routine calls for service as well as emergency incidents, while also maintaining relationships with local residents, businesses, and community groups.

During the visit, deputies and staff received the bags directly. PBSO acknowledged the continued support from the Boca Jewish Center and emphasized the importance of community relationships in its day-to-day operations.

The visit comes as the Sheriff’s Office prepares to expand security coordination with religious institutions countywide.

Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, through the agency’s Business Partners Against Terrorism (BPAT) Unit, is hosting a training and breakfast event for houses of worship within PBSO jurisdiction. The session will introduce a new Alert Notification System designed to provide real-time warnings to participating institutions.

The system will automatically notify houses of worship via text message, automated phone call, and email when an incident occurs within a quarter-mile of their property. Notifications are limited to incidents in progress or those that have just occurred and could escalate to violence.

PBSO has scheduled the system to go live on May 13, 2026. The agency has also provided an overview of the system through a public video demonstration.

The rollout follows heightened concern tied to a recent security incident in Detroit on March 12, which prompted increased attention to safety at religious institutions nationwide.

In a message addressing the incident, Sheriff Bradshaw said the agency is coordinating with state and federal partners to ensure the safety of all houses of worship within its jurisdiction. He stated that patrols and security presence have been increased in response, and that the agency is maintaining a visible law enforcement posture in affected areas.

Bradshaw also emphasized that acts of violence and hate will not be tolerated and reiterated the agency’s responsibility to protect all members of the community.

Community engagement remains a core function of PBSO district operations. Events like the Boca Jewish Center visit, while informal, align with broader efforts to maintain communication and trust between deputies and the public.

For deputies assigned to the Boca Raton District, the interaction provided a brief pause from routine duties in a service area that includes residential neighborhoods, commercial corridors, and high-traffic roadways.

PBSO indicated that outreach efforts and coordination with houses of worship will continue in the coming weeks as the Alert Notification System is implemented and additional training is conducted.

Residents and community organizations can expect continued visibility from deputies and ongoing communication from the Sheriff’s Office as security initiatives expand.
