Erick Danilo Bruga Da Cruz Passed Away After Deadly Motorcycle Crash

POMPANO BEACH, FL (Boca Post) — A Boca Raton teenager was killed in a deadly motorcycle crash in Pompano Beach on Sunday, March 12th, 2023.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, Traffic Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a crash that killed a teen in Pompano Beach.

According to detectives, at approximately 6:32 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, Broward Regional Communications received a call regarding a traffic crash with injuries at 1000 North Federal Hwy. in Pompano Beach. BSO deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded. BSO’s Traffic Homicide Unit also responded to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a 2012 Honda CBR1000RR, Erick Danilo Bruga Da Cruz, was traveling northbound on North Federal Highway passing through the intersection at Northeast 10th Street. At the same time, a 2007 Lexus LS460, driven by Rose Robbins, was making a left turn from southbound North Federal Highway onto eastbound Northeast 10th Street. As the driver of the Lexus was making the left turn, the motorcyclist struck the passenger side of the Lexus.
Paramedics transported Da Cruz to Broward Health North in critical condition, where he was later pronounced deceased. The driver of the Lexus remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing. At this time, excessive speed on behalf of the motorcyclist is suspected. The investigation has also revealed that the motorcycle was reported stolen out of Boca Raton.
