BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — The School District Of Palm Beach County Superintendent Mike Burke has announced a 1 week extension of the mask mandate in affect for all employees, vendors, and visitors.

The district announcing today that after consulting with local health officials they have re-evaluated the policy and decided to extend it by one week. The next re-evaluation will take place on January 21st, 2022.

In a statement from the district, they tell us that this decision is based on the current COVID-19 numbers in the area. The current positivity rate in Palm Beach County exceeds 30%.

The district tells us that school nurses will test students who have consent forms on file.
