Tanner Badgley, 23, Passed Away

THE ACREAGE (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A 23-year-old young mother of 2 was killed in a deadly crash in the Acreage just after midnight on Friday.

Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded to a crash at Royal Palm Beach Boulevard and 57th Road North in The Acreage just after midnight on July 28th, 2023.

First responders found two vehicles, a Ford F-250, and a Honda Accord, had just been in a crash with several serious injuries. Sadly, first responders declared 23-year-old Tanner Badgley deceased at the scene.

PBSO traffic homicide investigators tell Boca Post that Badgley’s F-250 was parked in the intersection of RPB Blvd and 57th Road North when Emmett Christian Jr. crashed into the rear of the truck with a Honda Accord. The impact of the collision caused Badgley, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, to be ejected from the truck onto the ground.

Family members tell a different story. According to Tanner’s family, Tanner was sitting in the truck while it was on the side of the road, not in the road as reported by PBSO. She was with her husband and a small group of others who were trying to pull another family member’s vehicle out of the ditch. That is when the Accord slammed into the truck, causing Tanner to be ejected out of the rear window, killing her instantly.

We have reached out to PBSO to further clarify the original reporting.

PBSO reports that two of the other passengers of the Honda Accord sustained serious injuries as well. The PBSO report indicates that drugs and/or alcohol may be a factor in the crash. Specifically, the other driver and his passengers may have been intoxicated.

Badgley’s husband has started a GoFundMe page to assist the family the young mother left behind during this most difficult time.
