HOLLYWOOD, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — Police are investigating after an adult woman was found dead on the beach in Hollywood early Friday.

Officers were called to the area of Cleveland Street and the sand shortly after 7 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 26, after a passerby noticed a person down, according to a media release from the Hollywood Police Department.

When officers arrived, Hollywood Fire Rescue also responded. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police described the victim as an adult female who appeared to be in her 40s to 50s. Her name was not released Friday morning, and investigators did not provide a cause of death or say how long she may have been on the beach before she was discovered.

Detectives remained on scene Friday as the case was treated as an active, ongoing investigation. Police did not announce any arrests, identify any suspects, or say whether the death appeared suspicious.

The location — Cleveland Street at the beach — is a heavily traveled stretch for walkers and early-morning beachgoers. Even so, police are asking anyone who may have seen something unusual around that time, or who may have information about the woman’s identity or what led up to her death, to come forward.

The Hollywood Police Department Detective Bureau is requesting assistance from the community. Anyone with information is asked to call Hollywood police at 954-967-4636. Tips can also be submitted to Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.

This story will be updated if police release additional details, including the victim’s identity, confirmation from the medical examiner, or any information about what investigators believe happened.
