FLORIDA (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A Florida Purple Alert has been issued for a missing man last known to be in Miami Gardens, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

FDLE identified the missing person as David Johnson, 74. He is described as a Black male with white hair and brown eyes. FDLE listed his height as 5 feet, 6 inches and his weight as 150 pounds.

The last known area provided on the FDLE flyer is Miami Gardens in Dade County. The alert is being circulated through FDLE’s Missing Child Information Center system.

Purple Alerts are used in Florida to help locate missing people and to get information out quickly to the public. For residents in South Florida, the immediate takeaway is simple: know the description, keep an eye out in your area, and report tips directly to the agency handling the case.

Authority for the investigation and response sits with the Miami Gardens Police Department, which is the contact agency listed on the FDLE alert. FDLE is distributing the statewide alert information.
