FLORIDA (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A Florida Silver Alert has been issued for a missing man last known to be in Spring Hill, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

FDLE said the alert is for Clifford Wicks, 79, from Spring Hill in Hernando County. The Silver Alert is a statewide notification used to help locate missing older adults.

FDLE’s flyer describes Wicks as a white male with gray hair and blue eyes. He is listed as 6 feet tall and about 200 pounds.

The last known area provided by FDLE is Spring Hill in Hernando County. No other location details were included in the FDLE notice.

Authority for the investigation and tips sits with local law enforcement in Hernando County. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office at 352-754-6830 or call 911.

For residents in South Florida, Silver Alerts matter because they are broadcast statewide and can quickly move beyond the county where a person was last seen. The public is asked to watch for the missing person and report information directly to law enforcement using the numbers provided.

The FDLE flyer remains the official public notice for the case. Updates, including whether the alert is canceled, typically follow through law enforcement channels once new information is confirmed.
