FLORIDA (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A Florida Silver Alert has been issued for a missing man last known to be in Apalachicola in Franklin County, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

FDLE said the alert is for William Collins, 73. He is described as a Black man, bald, with brown eyes. FDLE listed him as 6 feet 3 inches tall and about 200 pounds.

The last known area provided in the alert is Apalachicola, in Franklin County. FDLE did not release additional details in the alert about when he was last seen or what he was wearing.

Silver Alerts are statewide notifications used to help locate missing older adults. The alert puts the information out broadly so residents, businesses, and law enforcement across Florida can be on the lookout and report tips quickly.

Authority for the case sits with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, which is the agency FDLE directed the public to contact with information.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office at 850-670-8500 or call 911.

Residents who think they have seen the missing man, or who have information that could help locate him, should report it directly to law enforcement. The official FDLE flyer is posted online at http://www.fdle.state.fl.us/MCICSearch/Flyer.asp?ID=510274.
